iOS 18 Introduces Satellite Messaging

With the new iOS 18, Apple is adding a cool feature that lets you send messages to people using satellites. This is really useful when you don’t have phone signal or Wi-Fi. They first introduced a way to call for help with satellites, and now they’re making it even better.

So, in iOS 18, there’s this thing called Messages via Satellite. It means if you’re somewhere without any phone service or Wi-Fi, you can still send messages by connecting to a satellite in space.

It works a lot like the emergency help feature. You’ll need to point your iPhone towards a satellite in the sky to send and get messages. Don’t worry, your messages will be private and secure, and you can still use emojis and other fun message features.

Apple showed this off at their event and said it’ll be part of the iOS 18 update coming in the fall. They haven’t told us exactly when it’ll be ready to use, though.
